After ending fourth last season, Czech Roman Častoral is preparing and upgrading his Opel Astra OPC for the upcoming season. The driver has set the aim of this season - to take the ERC title of Division 2.
The last season was first for Častoral in rear wheel drive class, so he and the team had to learn a lot to achieve results. The season of 2009 he started with not completely done car and declared that he is not aiming for the highest positions, though during the season the car was upgraded, the team learned to work with the car, and in the last three rounds of the season he could even finish on podium.

Roman Častoral about his plans : "The engine and whole car has been tuned. Everything works without problems. With this car I want to celebrate victories on all races, this should be the way to have the possibility to win the title. We have done a good job during the winter and we are prepared to win. I am still learning, but you can never say that you are not 100% confident. I am also planning to drive in the whole Czech, Austrian, Polish and CEZ championships where I will use the old Group N front-wheel drive Opel. I have only one year experience with the rear-drive car so it is hard to say which car I like more. The rear-drive is a hard and aggressive car with maximum horsepower but the front-drive is a little bit more gentle and easier to drive."

Čatoral won ERC title in Division 2 in 2006 and finished second in 2007 and 2008. Till 2008 Division 2 was front wheel drive class. He is also nine times Champion of CEZ Rallycross trophy and Czech Rallycross Championship as well as six time Austrian Rallycross Champion.
