Last weekend on March 6/7 was given the start for the new Belgian Rallycross season with the first round of National Championship in Maasmechelen. Forty-two drivers were present in the event - four of them competed in Division 1, 12 in Division 1A, 5 in Division 2 and 21 in Division 3.

After ending fourth last season, Czech Roman Častoral is preparing and upgrading his Opel Astra OPC for the upcoming season. The driver has set the aim of this season - to take the ERC title of Division 2.

Polish Division 2 Rallycross driver Lukas Zoll is busy now at his workshop as he is rebuilding and preparing his BMW 120 of 2009 for the new season. The last season Zoll managed to end 13th in Division 2 of ERC.

Pirelli Partner/Driver Ken Block and co-driver Alex Gelsomino drove the Monster World Rally Team Open Class Ford Fiesta to a fifth consecutive win at 100 Acre Wood this weekend. Block held-off a late charge by second-place finisher Antoine L’Estage in his Rockstar Mitsubishi Evo to win. Early Rally leader Travis Pastrana of the Subaru Rally Team USA suffered suspension problems, taking him out of contention for the top spot.

Since Ken Block and Alex Gelsominoʼs first race at the 100 Acre Wood Rally in 2006, the two have dominated the competition, consistently taking first place every year since. This weekend theyʼre looking to secure a repeat performance, a.k.a. the "5-peat."
